Advancement Activity Requirement:
Second Class requirement #2A and First Class requirement #3 specify that a Scout must participate in Troop campouts and activities. The Troop 101 Activity Worksheet is for recording this participation. The worksheet should be completed for each of these rank advancements (Second Class and First Class) and turned in to Mr. Shelton.
Scout Master Conferences and Boards of Review:
When you have completed all requirements for you next rank (they must be initialed and dated in you Scout Handbook), then ask the Scoutmaster to schedule a Scoutmaster Conference. Be sure to bring your Scout Handbook. After you have completed your Scoutmaster Conference, as the Troop Committee Chairperson to schedule a Board of Review with members of the Troop Parent Committee. Wear full Class A uniform and bring your Scout Handbook. After you pass the Board of Review, give your Scout Handbook to Mr. Shelton so he can enter your new rank into the Troop Advancement records.
TROOP 101 CHEER

Lieutenant Baden-Powell in 1888
Our cheer was originally the "anthem" of a Zulu army that was allied with the British during a war between Zululand and Britain in the late 1800's. This army, or "impi" in Zulu, impressed Baden-Powell, Scouting's founder, with their singing and their appearance. Baden-Powell said that he would never forget his first meeting with the impi. We adopted the anthem as our troop cheer because Baden-Powell really liked it.
The words of the Zulu anthem sounded like this:
"Een-gonyama Gonyama! Invooboo! Yah-bo! Yah-bo! Invooboo!"
And it translates like this:
"He is a lion. Yes, he is better that a lion--he is a hippopotamus."
